Little Bald Lookout is visible on the peak just slightly below and left of center, at the end of the road angling up from the lower right corner. The road forks at its far left switchback and the other spur heads left up the ridge to Clover Springs, a primitive USFS campground and source of water for the lookout. The road you see in the upper right quadrant of the picture is a logging road off the Bumping Lake highway. It zig-zags up the south side of American Ridge, reaching up more than halfway to the Goat Peak lookout site. A short stretch of Highway 410, approximately 17 miles east of Chinook Pass, is just visible in the far upper right ...and if you look extra closely, you might be able to see Barbara hauling a 5 gallon can of Clover Springs water up the Little Bald stairs....
